Golf for Dummies- Video Review
How Often to Practice?
In tennis, we practice about four times a week--assuming we're about 30 plus. when you're younger, you can play for five days in a row--with cruise days and hard days. Normal breakdown was Sat/Sun tournament Monday was a quasi rest day--if you played Sunday, you cruised Monday, but if you didn't play Sunday, you played Monday light. Tuesday/Thursday=hard--running/training Wed medium and Friday cruise to get ready for the match on Saturday. Workouts tend to be two hours, but when I was in my 20's, my Saturday was usually 1-6 at the courts playing and Sunday match at 7, lunch, then playing from 12-6. Those days are gone.
For the adult player in golf, I assume you practice anywhere from two to four times a week and play once on Sat or Sunday. In tennis, if I played one singles and one doubles, I was fine for the matches on the weekend. Nowadays, the weight room is more important than the court to maintain my skills.
The first issue that I've been having is my lower back, core muscles, and blisters on my hands--these are new muscles so my solution is an increase in core exercise:
kay the first one is impossible...
The seal is a must do.
The hurdler is also a good one, combined with sit ups, these exercises plus hamstring stretches are KEY!
The scorpion really loosens up my tight back.
The added emphasis on abs, stretching, and core has an added corollary--my tennis game improves also.
The practice schedule will be every three days approximately--so Sunday and Thursday or Sat/Wed, but I won't golf on days I play tennis. I played a match this week and hit some golf balls the day before, that's a bad idea.
Status after practice 6--My blisters are not an issue. The swing feels more fluid, but the distance isn't improving. Bad swings still pop up. But hey anything easy isn't worth doing.

FULL Practice
If you have any access to video, you have to use it.
I am not a golfer, nor knowledgeable about the game, BUT even I can tell what looks funny from my video. Also try to shoot side views and front views. I also like to edit and use slow motion.
The funny thing is I had the worst practice ever yesterday, but on video, it didn't look that bad so the lesson is: YOUR PERCEPTION OF YOUR OWN GAME is really not what it is... both positive and negative.

It looks very placid. The prices seem reasonable.
